Uttar Pradesh: SDRF rescues a young man drowning in Yamuna river near Sangam

Prayagraj: Late on Sunday night, members of the Uttar Pradesh State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), stationed at the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, saved a young person who was drowning in the Yamuna River close to the Sangam.

The SDRF jawans saw the young person drowning in the middle of the river while on patrol. They acted right away to save his life.

When they saw a young person drowning in the Yamuna River close to the Sangam on February 2, 2025, SDRF_UP staff on duty at the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj acted quickly. In a post on X, the SDRF said, “They acted right away, saved the young man alive, gave him first aid, and sent him to the hospital.”

Devotees have commended the Uttar Pradesh government’s intricate preparations for the upcoming Maha Kumbh 2025. The government’s efforts to make sure the pilgrims have a safe and easy journey have been praised by many.

According to an official statement from the Uttar Pradesh Information Department, around 36.1 million devotees participated in a sacred plunge in the Triveni Sangam on Sunday.

Since the Maha Kumbh Mela began on January 13, more than 11.2 million pilgrims have already dipped in the holy confluence of three rivers as of February 2.

The spiritual fervor has been heightened by the fact that over 1 million Kalpwasis are participating in month-long spiritual austerities.

On the first day of spring, which coincides with the fifth day of the month of Magha, Hindus celebrate Basant Panchami, also called Vasant Panchami, Shri Panchami, and Saraswati Panchami.

Forty days after the feast, it also marks the beginning of the Holi preparations. Throughout the festival, Maa Saraswati, the Hindu goddess of education, music, and the arts, is honored.

January 13 marked the start of the Maha Kumbh 2025, which will last until February 26. Millions of devotees from all across the nation and the globe have already attended the event, which is predicted to break attendance and participation records.
