Uttar Pradesh government committed to make Maha Kumbh 2025 not only divine and grand but also a digital marvel
Prayagraj: Indian Railways has launched a ground-breaking project to transform tickets for the major event in keeping with the Uttar Pradesh government’s goal of making Mahakumbh 2025 not only heavenly and magnificent but also a digital wonder.
According to a news release, the Prayagraj Railway Division will use QR codes printed on railway workers’ jackets to provide digital train tickets for the first time. By automating the ticketing procedure for train officials, this project hopes to save devotees the trouble of waiting in huge lines for tickets.
Indian Railways has strengthened its digital efforts by introducing a toll-free hotline, a dedicated website, and the Mahakumbh Mela App to further advance the Digital Mahakumbh goal and guarantee tourist ease.
In a groundbreaking innovation, train tickets will soon be produced by scanning QR codes that are emblazoned on railway employees’ jackets. The North Central Railway launched this project with the goal of making it easier for the millions of pilgrims who are anticipated to visit Prayagraj during Mahakumbh 2025 to purchase tickets.
The commercial department staff will be assigned to special duty at Prayagraj Junction, according to Amit Malviya, senior PRO of the Prayagraj Railway Division. They will be dressed in recognizable green jackets with QR codes on the back. Devotees may buy unreserved seats without standing in line by using their phones to scan these codes and download the UTS mobile app.
Devotees visiting Mahakumbh may easily receive their tickets without having to wait in line thanks to this creative ticketing method. In addition to saving time, the digital payment method lessens the logistical difficulties that come with big events.
Senior PRO Malviya said that in order to let devotees simply buy their tickets, railway staff would be positioned at strategic points across the railway property, donning QR code jackets. The whole travel experience will be improved by the QR codes, which will also provide access to other necessary services.
Offering a distinctive and seamless experience to the devotees, this forward-thinking project by the North Central Railway is a major step towards Digital India and the Digital Mahakumbh that the double-engine government has envisioned.
