Uttar Pradesh: Congress President Ajay Rai criticized the state government for installing sharp barricades near the assembly
Lucknow: Ajay Rai, the president of the Uttar Pradesh Congress, criticized the state government on Wednesday for erecting pointed barriers close to the Vidhan Sabha in advance of the party’s scheduled demonstration, drawing comparisons to the ones that were deployed during the farmers’ demonstrations at the border with Ghazipur.
“No one will be able to stop our party workers—they are Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party workers,” Rai told ANI. The ‘gherao’ of the Vidhan Sabha will be performed. We will hold the state government responsible since they have ruined the whole state. We shall resist the administration in that manner because we are Gandhian.
They are committing crimes against our party workers and stealing their cars. We will enter the government and drop all such lawsuits against our party workers, I would want to state.
“Pointed spears are installed here,” he said. Our employees will suffer severe injuries from these spears. This is the first time it has happened. The goal of this government is to murder our employees. Our workers are being halted in the same manner that the farmers were at the border of Ghazipur. Nevertheless, despite everything, we will still join the Vidhan Sabha.
“Look at our brave workers who have stayed up all night, including our women workers, who are as courageous as lionesses,” Rai said, praising the resolve of Congress employees. Nobody can stop these daring members of Congress. They work for Rahul Gandhi and are committed to this cause. To gherao the Assembly today, they will surely march with all their might.
“The people of this country are in distress—farmers are suffering, women are crying out for justice, and this government has ruined the entire state,” Rai remarked, highlighting the wider problems that the populace faces. We will force this administration to bow down now and demand answers.
“You can see that this government wants to kill our workers,” he said, repeating his criticism of the government. I’m blunt: they want to murder our employees. Originally erected to repress farmers along the Ghazipur border, thorny obstacles have now been erected for Congress employees in Lucknow. These sharp spikes will hurt our workers’ hands, feet, stomachs, or necks if even the smallest error occurs.”
Rai also promised a nonviolent protest from the Congress party. “This murderous government is so inhumane, but we are Gandhian people,” said the chief of the UP Congress. In a Gandhian spirit, we shall fight this regime and continue our struggle. Our employees are being stopped, harassed, imprisoned, and having their cars taken in spite of the horrors.
“Let me declare this with confidence: when our government comes to power, we will withdraw every case filed against our workers who are fighting for justice,” Rai said.
As the Congress party in Lucknow was ready to demonstrate against the state government in the Vidhan Sabha, police earlier erected barriers outside the party’s headquarters.
