“He should resign as he has insulted Baba Bhimrao Ambedkar, or (Prime Minister Narendra) Modi ji should sack him,” Rai told the press on Monday.

“Amit Shah has disparaged Ambedkar ji all around the nation. There is a national movement. The Congress leader went on, “He ought to apologize and resign.”

Amit Shah, a prominent leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has disputed accusations from opposition parties that he disrespected Ambedkar.

In a Monday speech, BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad said that the Congress party was hypocritical about the preservation of SC/ST populations and the heritage of former Law and Justice Minister BR Ambedkar. Prasad criticized the Congress for utilizing Ambedkar’s name for political ends while requiring him to quit during elections and blocking the building of his monument.

“Ambedkar is so beloved by the Congress. They made sure Ambedkar couldn’t erect a monument and had him quit during elections. Prasad said, “They’re holding a press conference in his name right now.” “Ambedkar wasn’t even allowed to speak when he was resigning,” he further said.

Prasad also criticized the Congress for giving Muslims preference over other marginalized groups and expressed worry about the absence of adequate protections for SC/ST populations. “SC/STs have not received adequate protection,” he stated. Adequate protections have only been granted to Muslims.

“If they (the opposition) had taken the name of God as many times as they take Ambedkar’s name, they would have attained heaven for seven lives,” Shah allegedly said in the Rajya Sabha.

Last week, the Treasury and Opposition benches in Parliament staged concurrent rallies in response to Shah’s comments. Two BJP MPs, Pratap Sarangi and Mukesh Rajput, were hurt in a brawl between the two groups that followed the protests.
