On Sunday, both leaders halted their convoys to meet and gave each other a heartfelt embrace.

Meanwhile, political parties have stepped up their campaigns as the Delhi election approaches in less than a week.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a vicious assault on the governing Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Sunday, claiming that the “AAP-DA” (disaster) administration had destroyed Delhi in the previous eleven years. He gave the populace his word that no social programs would be cut off or a single slum would be destroyed if the BJP took control of Delhi.

He said that because the AAP administration will spend another five years in Delhi, it should not be allowed another opportunity.

Speaking to a sizable gathering in Delhi’s RK Puram on Sunday, Prime Minister Modi outlined the BJP’s many pledges and predicted that on February 5, voters will cast ballots for change. Upon the announcement of the results on February 8, he said a “double-engine government” will be established in Delhi.

Similar to how Basant Panchami brings a change in the weather, PM Modi likened the outcome of the next election to a change in the seasons, stating that Delhi would experience a “new spring of development.”

“Delhi will welcome a fresh spring of growth in a few days. This time, Delhi is on the verge of forming a BJP administration. Eleven years have been squandered by the ‘AAP-da party.’. The most important thing I want is that we be given the opportunity to help the Delhi community. I swear to do all in my power to get rid of all your problems. He said that a double-engine government will arrive in Delhi to improve the lot of all middle-class and impoverished families.

In addition, he announced the establishment of a welfare board for domestic workers and drivers and promised Rs 5 for wholesome meals for slum dwellers. He promised not to cut off any of the current social programs.

“Auto drivers and domestic workers would have access to insurance coverage of up to Rs 10 lakh via the establishment of a welfare board. Children’s school costs would also be covered by the BJP administration. I further promise that, despite the lies being made by these AAP-Da members, not a single slum in Delhi would be razed. “We will not halt Delhi’s public welfare programs,” PM Modi said.

His comments followed Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s January 12 speech, in which Kejriwal said that if the BJP took power, Delhi’s slums would be “demolished” over the next five years, leaving residents without a place to live.

PM Modi continued to bash the AAP, saying, “Jhaadu ke tinke bikhar rahe hai” (parts of the broomstick are splintering), and that the party is losing because its members are leaving before the assembly poll.

A day after leaving Arvind Kejriwal’s party, eight AAP MLAs joined the BJP on Saturday.

The Delhi Assembly elections will be held in one phase on February 5 and the vote count is set for February 8. The BJP, Congress, and AAP are expected to compete in a triangular struggle in the nation’s capital.
