Speaking at the 21st DP Kohli Memorial Lecture in honor of the 62nd Foundation Day of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), the Union Railway Minister said, “Our development plan is built upon four pillars. The first is government spending on digital, social, and physical infrastructure. Second, there are several programs for inclusive development. Third, we must concentrate on innovation and production; fourth, we must streamline our compliance and regulatory frameworks.”

Vaishnaw said, “He created a very strong organization, which is today considered the premier investigation agency in the country,” in reference to the legacy of CBI founder DP Kohli.

As he said, “We are passing through the most transformative phase of the 21st century.” He emphasized the need for investigating officers to comprehend the changing social and economic situation.

A pandemic, geopolitical conflicts, the 2008 financial crisis, and the impending US tariff regime are just a few of the global issues mentioned by Vaishnaw. He also said, “This whole new thinking in global geopolitical, geoeconomic, and geocultural norms is changing the entire global economic order significantly.” Vaishnaw emphasized that 2024 was a historic year for democracy, with elections taking place in around 60 nations, and that India’s choice for stability by electing the NDA government to a third term represented ten years of revolutionary transformation.

“Out of the top ten economies worldwide, ours is now the major economy with the quickest rate of growth… ” A clear, well-thought-out strategy and careful execution are the reasons for this success,” he said.

Speaking at the ceremony, CBI Director Praveen Sood said, “2024 has been a historic year for law enforcement agencies and CBI in many ways.”

He emphasized the timetables and procedural modifications in the new rules designed to expedite the administration of justice, saying, “It will help deliver justice to victims in a time-bound manner.”

Sood said that earlier this year, Union Home Minister Amit Shah introduced the CBI site BHARATPOL, which allows the CBI and law enforcement organizations throughout the country to communicate easily.

“Earlier this year, Union HM Amit Shah launched the CBI portal BHARATPOL, which facilitates seamless communication between law enforcement agencies all over the country and CBI,” the Director of the CBI said.
