Union Minister JP Nadda said this on the recovery of notes in Rajya Sabha
Following the announcement by Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar that a wad of cash had been discovered on a Congress politician Abhishek Manu Singhvi’s seat, Union Minister JP Nadda remarked on Friday that the occurrence was unusual, grave, and had damaged the House’s reputation.
Union Minister Nadda said that he has trust in the chairman’s decision and that a thorough inquiry would be carried out to resolve the matter, as VP Dhankar has ordered a probe into the occurrence.
“This situation is severe and out of the ordinary. It does not imply division within the opposition or governing party. The House’s dignity is damaged by this occurrence. “Sir, I trust your decision that a thorough investigation will be carried out and everything will be resolved,” Nadda said in the Rajya Sabha.
Manoj Tiwari, a BJP MP, said that an inquiry is underway on this occurrence.
“A bundle of notes has been recovered from the bench,” Tiwari said. This has to be looked into. An investigation into the situation has been requested by the Vice President of India. The location of the note bundle being seized from Congress lawmakers surprises me; this occurrence has to be looked further.
“A bundle of notes being recovered from the Parliament is a matter of investigation,” said BJP MP Ravi Kishan, who expressed disbelief at the occurrence. This is very startling.
CPI MP P Santhosh Kumar responded to the event by stating that if the Rajya Sabha Chairman has been told about this matter, then it is reliable information. But in this instance, he said, there was no need in bringing up the seat number.
“I believe this to be reliable information since the Rajya Sabha Chairman made the announcement. In this instance, it is useless to give the seat number. They may be kept by others as well. Let the inquiry go on. It seems to be a rather peculiar situation. “Kumar said.”
When Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar told the house earlier today that security agents had discovered a wad of cash on Congress lawmaker Abhishek Manu Singhvi’s seat, mayhem broke out in the upper chamber.
“I would like to notify the members that after yesterday’s House adjournment, the chamber was subjected to a standard anti-sabotage inspection.
Security personnel reportedly found a bundle of cash notes in seat number 222, which is now occupied by Abhishek Manu Singhvi, a Telangana state representative. When the issue was brought to my attention, I ensured that an inquiry was conducted and that it is still under progress,” Dhankhar said.
Congress lawmaker Abhishek Manu Singhvi responded to the RS Chairman’s comments by saying he was “astonished” to hear it and that any shortcomings in the security services must also be fully revealed.
“I’m shocked to learn about it at all. I had never heard of it. At 12:57 p.m. yesterday, I entered the House. At 1:00 PM, the House rose. I had lunch with Ayodhya Prasad in the cafeteria from 1 to 1:30 pm. I left Parliament about 1:30 p.m. I spent three minutes in the house and thirty minutes at the canteen yesterday.
It seems strange to me that politics is brought up even while discussing such matters. Naturally, the question of how someone might come and place anything in any seat has to be investigated. Since anybody can do anything on the seat and then accuse others of doing it, it implies that each of us needs a seat that can be locked and that the MP can take the key home. It would be humorous if it weren’t heartbreaking and serious.
“I believe that everyone should work together to find the truth about this, and if there are any security agency shortcomings, they also need to be fully revealed,” Singhvi told the reporters.
On November 25, the winter Parliament’s first session began, but because to interruptions, both Houses were adjourned somewhat early. The winter session is scheduled to conclude on December 20.
