Tripura: Police detained two Bangladeshi nationals at Agartala railway station
Tripura: Two Bangladeshi nationals and their two children were arrested at the Agartala train station as part of a coordinated operation, according to police.
The Agartala Government Railway Police (GRP Station Agartala Railway Protection Force (RPF), Border Security Force (BSF), and intelligence agencies collaborated to conduct the operation on Monday, which was based on classified information.
According to the police’s first questioning, the two people, named as Tahidul Polan, 26, and Rajifa Begum, 19, from Bangladesh’s Bagerhat, reportedly entered India illegally and intended to take a train to Kolkata, West Bengal.
According to the police, two children, Maryam Polan (1) and Md. Isha Polan (3), were among the arrested adults.
Following the GRP’s questioning of the prisoners, the authorities believe that further people involved in this investigation may be taken into custody. The Bangladeshi nationals will appear in court on December 10 after a complaint has been filed at the Agartala GRP Station.
This case is still being investigated.
According to authorities on Sunday, the Northeast Frontier Railway’s (NFR) Railway Protection Force (RPF) conducted several operations in November, saving 56 children and four women while detaining 23 unauthorized Bangladeshi migrants at several train stops around the area.
According to an official statement, during several drives conducted from November 1 to November 30, the illegal Bangladeshi migrants were arrested at the train stations in Agartala, Jirania, and Dharmanagar.
A little child who had escaped was rescued by RPF officers from Katihar during a check at the Katihar railway station on November 27.
“One little youngster who had escaped from Katihar railway station was saved during the inspection. The rescued youngster was then sent to Child Line, Katihar, for safekeeping after their address was determined,” said Kapinjal Kishore Sharma, Northeast Frontier Railway’s Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO).
