TMC leader Shashi Panja condemns Union Minister Giriraj Singh’s remarks on Mamata Banerjee
Kolkata: Union Minister Giriraj Singh’s comments on Mamata Banerjee were denounced by Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Shashi Panja on Friday as being unconstitutional.
TMC leader and West Bengal Minister Panja told the media that it is unlawful to make such claims. This is completely incorrect. The Union Minister should refrain from such remarks and keep in mind that West Bengal has a democratically elected administration. Mamata Banerjee, the chief minister of West Bengal, has been trusted by the people of West Bengal.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was chastised by Union Minister Giriraj Singh on Friday for her comments on the Border Security Force (BSF), claiming that she was attempting to make West Bengal more like Bangladesh.
“West Bengal should resemble Bangladesh, according to Mamata Banerjee. She is blaming the BSF, which guards the nation’s border, for this reason. The number of Rohingyas and Bangladeshi Muslims settling in West Bengal has surpassed that of the native Muslim population. “She should implement NRC and CAA in West Bengal if she has the guts,” Giriraj Singh told reporters.
Mamata Banerjee said on Thursday that the BSF was creating disturbances in the area by allowing terrorists and infiltrators from Bangladesh to enter the state.
“The BSF, not the TMC, is responsible for border security… Goons are being sent. People who commit murder are being sent over the border. This is a Central Government plan and an inside job by the BSF. “It would not be feasible if there were no Central Government blueprint,” she had said.
Banerjee blamed the BSF for the purported infiltration and denied that the TMC had anything to do with it.
“Islampur, Sitai, Chopra, and several more areas are open for entry by BSF.The BSF is in control of the border. Atrocities against women are also being committed by the BSF.This boundary is under the control of the BSF, not us. It is not the TMC if anybody believes that they would let infiltrators enter Bengal and assign blame to them. It is the responsibility of the BSF, not the TMC,” she said.
Additionally, according to CM Banerjee, her administration has often expressed worries about infiltration with the Center.
“We will protest against the central government if they allow extremists to disturb the state, but I have constantly told them that whatever they decide will be our course. For this, we will also write a letter of complaint to the center,” she said.
Reports of Bangladeshi infiltrators entering West Bengal and upsetting the peace and tranquility of the area prompted the West Bengal chief minister’s comments.
