Three people arrested in the stampede incident at the premiere show of ‘Pushpa 2’ at Sandhya theatre in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: According to police, three persons, including one of the Sandhya theater’s owners, were taken into custody in relation to the stampede that killed a lady before the opening of the movie “Pushpa 2.”

According to authorities on Sunday, the detained suspects are M. Sandeep (37), senior manager M. Nagaraju (51), one of the Sandhya Theatre’s proprietors, and Gandhakam Vijay Chander (53), who is in charge of the lower balcony.

The event on December 4 claimed the life of Revathi, a 35-year-old lady. After being taken to the Durgabai Deshmukh Hospital while her son Shreethej was receiving treatment, the mother was pronounced dead, according to a press statement from the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Central Zone.

After actor Allu Arjun arrived at the theater with his personal protection, everyone rushed inside, causing the stampede.

In accordance with sections 105, 118 (1), and other pertinent provisions of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS), the police have filed a complaint at the Chikkadpally police station. The culprit who had been apprehended appeared in court and was placed under judicial custody.

The creators of “Pushpa 2: The Rule” released an official statement expressing their sadness over the unfortunate event after the stampede that occurred during the showing of the film at Sandhya Theatre on the evening of December 4.

“We are really saddened by the terrible event that occurred at the screening last night. The family and the small kid receiving medical care are in our prayers and thoughts. We pledge to be there for them and provide all assistance we can during this trying time.” With profound sadness,” Mythri Movie, the film’s creators, stated on X.

Ahead of the ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ film launch, Allu Arjun’s admirers flocked to the Sandhya theater in Hyderabad on December 4. To keep the mob under control, police used light lathicharge.
