The Delhi Police today conducted searches in the national capital’s Kalindi Kunj area to identify Bangladeshi migrants
To find possible immigrants from Bangladesh, Delhi Police searched the Kalindi Kunj neighborhood of the nation’s capital on Tuesday.
One homeowner said that the police conducted extensive inspections, requesting both the inhabitants’ government-issued identity cards and basic personal information. “Checking has been done five or six times here. They want government ID cards and basic residential details. There aren’t any Bangladeshis living here,” the local claimed.
Eleven people, including document forgers, Aadhaar operators, and IT specialists engaged in building phony websites, were arrested by Delhi Police after they disrupted a significant illegal immigration ring, according to police.
The accused produced false voter IDs, Aadhaar cards, and other falsified papers using a phony website, according to Ankit Chauhan, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) South. “The illegal immigrants used jungle routes and express trains to enter Indian territory,” claimed Chauhan. He said that 11 people have already been taken into custody for helping Bangladeshi nationals get counterfeit passports via phony websites.
The Lieutenant Governor of Delhi earlier this month ordered the Chief Secretary and the Commissioner of Police to begin a two-month special effort to find and punish illegal immigrants from Bangladesh living in the nation’s capital.
More than 1,000 illegal immigrants from Bangladesh have been found in the capital so far, according to Delhi Police officials.
Interrogations, document review, and door-to-door verification were all part of the police effort. Targeted operations were carried out by special teams, which included foreign cells and local police.
