Telangana minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy hits out at JP Nadda, says he should not spread “lies”
Hyderabad: JP Nadda, the head of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), was criticized by Telangana Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy for spreading “lies.” He questioned if the Congress government’s inability to provide cylinders at Rs 500 in the state was their fault.
On Sunday, the minister said that 25 lakh farmers’ debts had been forgiven and that 50 lakh people were receiving free power from the Congress administration.
“I have just one question for him (Nadda).” Is it a failure to provide a 500 rupee cylinder? We are offering it for Rs 500 even though the cylinder’s price was raised to Rs 1,300. We are giving 50 lakh homes free power. We gave Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (RTC) Rs 3,000 crore. Is this a failure? We are waiving two lakh rupees in debts for twenty-five lakh farmers. In the last 75 years, no one has done this. I am your senior, Naddaji. Six times, I have been elected. Telangana Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy advised the media not to tell falsehoods when in the state.
Reddy went on to criticize Prime Minister Narendra Modi for making “lies” about bringing in illicit funds.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi lied about bringing in illicit funds. However, it hasn’t occurred. They need to inquire with the locals on our provision of free RTC and power. We will keep up the fantastic job that we have already done. Salary payments are made on the first of each month. Salary payments from the previous government were made on the twentieth of each month. Is this a failure? The Minister of Telangana said.
This follows BJP president Nadda’s Saturday speech at a public gathering in Rangareddy, Telangana, in which he attacked the state’s Congress administration. He was speaking at the gathering to draw attention to what he saw as the Telangana Congress government’s shortcomings over the previous 12 months.
“With an absolute majority, we are in power in 13 states. Telangana residents are also holding out. They have seen the regimes of Congress and BRS. It’s time to bring the Lotus into bloom and bring it into line with Telangana’s progress,” Nadda said.
