“A caste census must be carried out nationwide. The reason it isn’t being carried out is because PM Modi and the BJP oppose it. Their Hindu-Muslim politics will cease when the true reality of the country emerges,” Tejashwi Yadav told the media report on Wednesday.

Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha, also criticised the BJP on Wednesday over the caste census, saying that they “don’t want to reveal the share that minorities get in this country.”

“We conducted a caste census in Telangana, which was a new move. I had urged PM Narendra Modi in Parliament a few months before to then have the nation conduct a caste census. I wanted to discover who was responsible for what and if the tribal, Dalit, and backward populations were really recognised in this nation. Because they don’t want to disclose the percentage that minorities get in our nation, PM Narendra Modi and the RSS blatantly rejected the caste census. Rahul Gandhi said, “I told him that we will pass the caste census law in the Parliament right in front of you.”

Additionally, a thorough debate of the caste census was part of the two-day Ahmedabad session of the All India Congress Committee (AICC).

Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, would pursue the call for a caste census, according to Congress MP Deepender Hooda.

“Our need for a caste census for social fairness was thoroughly discussed. Our plans will be carried out symbolically in order to advance the demand. To ensure that each sector receives rights commensurate with its number, we urge that the government carry out a caste census,” Hooda told reporters.

Rahul Gandhi, a social justice icon, is advancing this way of thought. The working committee also commended the caste census and the kind of reservation scheme used by our Telangana administration since then,” he said.
