According to the statement, they also seized the vehicle they used to commit the crime, which lacked a license plate.

During interrogation, the apprehended accused admitted, according to DGP Yadav, that Jaggu Bhagwanpuria had provided the confiscated firearms via his colleague, and they intended to carry out target assassinations at the behest of mobster Amritpal Batth. He stated that the detained people are connected to a number of criminal matters, such as gang-related violence, illegal gun possession, and attempted murder.

The DGP said that significant details on the gunman engaged in a recent gang-targeted murder in the Tarn Taran area were made public. According to him, further research is being done to determine their forward and backward connections.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Tarn Taran Abhimanyu Rana provided reporters with information on the operation, stating that a police team headed by Incharge CIA staff Tarn Taran Amandeep Singh established a roadblock on the Jandiala to Tarn Taran route after receiving information about suspects driving a vehicle. Gurmeet Singh, also known as Rawal, Lovepreet Singh, also known as NP, and Harpal Singh were taken into custody when they pulled over the car. Two other gang members, Shamsher Singh and Sandeep Singh, were also taken into custody after questioning of the apprehended suspect.

“This operation is a significant success in our ongoing efforts to curb gang activity in the region,” he said.

At Police Station Sadar Tarn Taran, a case has been filed in accordance with Sections 25 and 27 of the Arms Act and Section 111(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
