“MPs were not permitted to discuss Cyclone Fengal in Parliament. We are evaluating the damages as part of our duty and will provide a report. That is our obligation and accountability. They have an obligation to reply as well, but they are not. “We are doing our best in spite of this,” CM Stalin told reporters in Chennai.

Additionally, he attacked Edappadi K. Palaniswami, the Leader of the Opposition, claiming that the public is aware of the effectiveness of the state government’s plans while the AIADMK leader persists in leveling charges.

“It seems that Edappadi K. Palaniswami, the head of the opposition, is exclusively responsible for accusing us. People are aware of the government’s assistance programs, nevertheless,” the Chief Minister said.

The CM praised the relief workers and district authorities for their efforts in the face of the cyclone’s severe rains and floods.

“The rescue and relief team, district collectors, coordinating officials, public representatives, ministers, and the deputy chief minister are all working diligently. I’m personally keeping an eye on things to make sure things go back to normal. I’ve told authorities to finish all ground-level work as soon as possible,” he added.

He promised that anyone impacted by the storm will be fairly compensated for any losses, including loss of life or damage to houses or animals.

The CM provided specifics on relief efforts, stating that 18 rescue teams with a total of 493 personnel are now operating in several areas.

Relief activities are being carried out in the Villupuram district by 407 members of seven National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and eight State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) teams, for a total of 15 teams.

While a 30-person team is working on rescue efforts in Tiruvannamalai, 56 members of the NDRF and SDRF are involved in activities in Cuddalore.

At the location of the Tiruvannamalai landslide, rescue efforts are underway. The CM said, “IIT engineers have been called to help at the affected location.”

CM Stalin said that more than 7,000 people are now residing in 147 relief camps that have been established in impacted regions. “There are currently 147 functioning relief camps that can house 7,776 people,” he said. Water, food, and medical supplies are among the things that have been prepared for them.

The Chief Minister previously traveled to the districts of Kallakurichi and Viluppuram to assess the damage and provide assistance to the impacted citizens. “I am personally visiting Viluppuram and Kallakurichi districts to see the severe damage caused by Cyclone Fengal and help the people,” the chief minister wrote on X.

Residents of numerous districts are in trouble due to the catastrophic floods and heavy rains produced by Cyclone Fengal, which made landfall on the shores of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry on Saturday, November 30. Rescue crews are still trying to remove stuck residents, however.
