Tamil Nadu CM Stalin condoles the demise of former PM Manmohan Singh
New Delhi: Chief Minister MK Stalin paid homage to former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who died on Thursday, saying that Singh’s leadership and intelligence guided India’s economic transition.
“Deeply saddened by the passing of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, a statesman whose intellect and leadership steered India’s economic transformation,” the chief minister said in a message, expressing his “deepest” sympathies to his family, friends, and the Congress party. Millions of people’s lives were improved by reforms, social advancement, and stable development under his administration.
CM Stalin also remembered how Manmohan Singh’s collaboration with Karunanidhi, the previous chief minister of Tamil Nadu, was crucial to the advancement of the state’s progress.
“The collaboration between Thalaivar Kalaignar and Dr. Manmohan Singh was crucial to the advancement of Tamil Nadu’s development. Their cooperation and respect for one another produced important initiatives and bolstered the state’s advancement in a number of areas. Dr. Manmohan Singh made sure that the views of the South were heard in national policy and respected Tamil Nadu’s ambitions,” he said.
According to the chief minister of Tamil Nadu, Kalaignar and Manmohan Singh stood together during difficult times.
“Dr. Manmohan Singh and Thalaivar Kalaignar remained together even in the face of adversity, demonstrating the power of coalition politics based on mutual respect and trust for local identities. He said in his essay that “his cool, collected leadership reflected a rare quality—a leader who spoke less but achieved more, driven by action rather than rhetoric.”
He went on to refer to the former prime minister as a friend of the state, stating that everyone who had the honor of dealing with him was profoundly impacted by his immense knowledge and grandeur.
“Dr. Manmohan Singh was regarded by the Tamil Nadu populace as both a prime minister and a state ally. His comprehension of our requirements and capacity to meet them strengthened Tamil Nadu’s place in India’s development narrative. Despite his enormous size and depth of knowledge, his humility made a lasting effect on everyone who had the honor of working with him, Stalin said.
“I offer my sincere condolences to his family, friends, and the whole @INCIndia party on behalf of the people of Tamil Nadu and the DMK. Future generations will continue to be guided and inspired by Dr. Manmohan Singh’s legacy of knowledge, humility, and dedication,” he said.
