Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah: Palak Sindhwani accused the makers of mental harassment and not paying the dues
Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah: Palak Sindhwani, who portrays Sonu Bhide in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, said that the show’s creators were abusing and threatening her in an exclusive interview with Times of India TV. She said that the circumstance caused her to weep in her cosmetics area. Additionally, Palak released a statement claiming that the production company is still requesting that she work for them despite not having paid her dues.
“They never discussed any exclusivity contract with me, but as soon as I expressed my desire to leave the show in August, the exploitation began,” Palak claimed, referring to the exclusivity contract scandal and how she would weep in her makeup room as a result of the harassment. They began treating me unjustly since they probably assumed that I wouldn’t wait until May to depart.
When they accused me of breaking the contract, the exploitation reached its zenith. The media stories had an impact on me, but I didn’t remain mute. I continued begging to be given the formal go-ahead to quit. It was psychologically and emotionally taxing; I felt wounded on the inside. I used to weep in my makeup room before gathering my courage to do the photos.”
Palak, who took Nidhi Bhanushali’s position in 2019 and even claimed the creators had deleted her social media account and threatened her with terrible repercussions, I was quite offended because, after five years of work on the program, I shouldn’t have to be treated this way. They informed me for the first time that I had broken the contract at the meeting that I had requested, which took place on September 18. This was only brought up after I declared my intention to leave the program.
On September 19, the day following the meeting, they provided me with a copy of the contract when I requested for one. They also threatened me at the September 18 meeting, claiming that they had such a powerful team that they could remove my Instagram account in one go and that I would no longer be allowed to perform brand endorsements. I brought up the fact that almost every actor endorses brands; thus, why was I the only one accused of breaking the contract? They said that I shouldn’t compare myself to other people since their contracts are different. They also began using the same harsh language they use with others while speaking to me harshly.”
She went on to say that week was the most traumatizing time in her life. “Despite my health problems, I continued to work toward them, and I had sent in my medical reports. I begged them to take into account my situation and give me some time off, but they insisted on forcing me to film for twelve hours straight, leaving me stranded on set and unable to even meet with anyone or reply to their legal notice. Only I know how I managed the previous 6-7 days. These have been the most traumatizing days of my life, and they have been psychologically harassing me. Even though my real task only takes 30 minutes, they summon me to shoots and force me to sit for 12 hours.”
In a statement, the actress said that the production company was still requesting that she continue working even after they had paid her Rs 21 lakhs in arrears. “To date, Palak has not even received her over 21 lakhs in unpaid debts. This demonstrates that the manufacturing house, not Palak, is in violation. The statement said, “In actuality, Palak is not considering bringing a criminal and civil case of harassment and torture against the relevant production house officials.”
