ST Hasan said that rumours should be controlled on Sambhal stone-pelting incident

Moradabad: ST Hasan, the leader of the Sambhal stone-pelting incident, said on Friday that rumors about it should be kept to a minimum. “It is important to suppress rumors. There is a widespread rumor in Moradabad that the Shahi Jama Masjid in Sambhal would not be offering namaz. There will be namaz, but it will only be performed under strict security. “Go to the mosque and pray for peace; there’s no need to panic,” Hasan told a media report.

Aunjaneya Kumar Singh, the divisional commissioner for Moradabad, said that all necessary security measures had been put in place and that people had been urged to perform namaz in their own mosques.

“Every possible arrangement has been made. CCTV cameras are used for monitoring, and drone cameras are also present. One RAF, two RIFs, and thirteen PSCSs are among the sixteen companies that have been sent. We have had conversations with the peace committees and the Maulvis of the mosques. We have urged individuals to exclusively perform namaz in their own mosques.

Additionally, people have been invited to visit the Jama Masjid in smaller groups. There will be rigorous inspection. Additionally, we are keeping an eye on social media sites; the cyber cell has been alerted, and anybody disseminating false information will face severe consequences. Sensitive places are being watched. Speaking to a media report, Singh remarked.

Images from Sambhal indicated that a Rapid Action Force (RAF) had been stationed here after the November 24 stone-pelting incident during ASI’s inspection of the Mughal-era mosque, which left four people dead and several more, including officials and residents, wounded.

A guy who reportedly circulated rumors during the event was apprehended by the Uttar Pradesh Police earlier on November 28.

According to police authorities, the individual, Farhat, has been charged under sections 170, 126, and 135 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
