Some schools in Delhi received bomb threats this morning
New Delhi: According to Delhi Police, bomb threats were made this morning against a few Delhi schools. The targets were a school in Saraswati Vihar, North West Delhi, and an Indian public school in South Delhi.
Teams from the police, fire department, and bomb squad quickly responded to the threats. As a precautionary measure, the school grounds were promptly evacuated. To ascertain the source and veracity of the threats, authorities are now carrying out extensive investigations.
“The police, fire department, and bomb squad were sent to the school once they received the information. An inquiry is underway, and the school’s grounds have been evacuated. According to Delhi Police,
Several schools in Delhi got bomb threats via email requesting a USD 30,000 ransom; thus, this is not a unique event. Around 11:38 p.m. on December 8, this email arrived.
A private school pupil was found guilty on December 14 by the Delhi Police Special Cell of sending a bomb threat email to a Paschim Vihar school.
Police said that the kid sent the threatening email to his own school, and they were able to track down the boy’s residence after determining the IP address. After being questioned, the youngster confessed to the incident and received counseling. He was released with a warning to his parents to monitor his conduct.
Parents and employees were alarmed by the threatening emails, but the police reassured them that safety is their first priority and that investigations are still underway. To date, none of the schools have been discovered to contain bombs or dangerous materials.
Up to 30 schools in Delhi received phony bomb threat emails on December 13, according to South East Delhi Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Ravi Kumar Singh.
According to the DCP, the inquiry into the fictitious threats showed that the emails addressed to the schools were created outside of the nation.
After learning of the situation, schools were evacuated, and the bomb disposal squad conducted site inspections.
Around 5:30 AM, we were notified that certain schools in our district had received bomb threats via email. The bomb disposal squad inspected the locations after schools were evacuated. The investigation has so far shown that the call was a fake. Such emails have been sent to 30 schools in Delhi, including three in our area,” DCP informed the media.
