Shivraj Singh Chouhan participated in the Golden Jubilee celebrations of ICAR North Eastern Hill Region

Umiam: Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan was present at the Indian Council of Agricultural Research’s (ICAR) Golden Jubilee Celebrations for the North Eastern Hill Region in Umiam, Meghalaya’s Ri-Bhoi district, on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that the Modi administration has made sufficient provisions for fruit, vegetable, and agricultural research; for fair pricing to farmers; for raising output; and for cutting expenses. He also stated that the North East is the government’s specific emphasis.

“The Northeast is given particular attention by the Indian government. Here, sufficient funding has been and will continue to be allocated for fruit, vegetable, and agricultural research; fair pricing for farmers; output growth; and cost reduction. Union Minister Chouhan said, “I want to thank Prime Minister Modi and the Chief Minister here.

Bamboo might change the fortunes of farmers in the Northeast, according to Agriculture Minister Chouhan, and his ministry will investigate its possibilities.

“Only bamboo has the power to improve the reputation and financial situation of our Northeastern farmers. These days, bamboo is utilized everywhere, which is an incredible thing. I’m in awe of how many items are manufactured from bamboo, including furniture, housing, breakfast food, and veggies. We’ll talk about how we can make better use of it,” Chouhan said.

“Mother, sister, and daughter are greatly respected in the Northeast,” Chouhan said, praising the inhabitants of the region. In the Northeast, where the mother is the head of the household, I bend my head and give my respects.

However, this isn’t always the case. People rejoice when a male is born, but the mother’s countenance droops when a girl is born. In several states, there are 900 females for every 1,000 boys due to the sex ratio. This bigotry comes from people, not from God. Thus, in Madhya Pradesh, we established the Ladli Laxmi Yojana. I decided that a billionaire will be born in Madhya Pradesh whenever a daughter is born,” Chouhan said.
