After dating for more than a year, Selena Gomez and her boyfriend Benny Blanco announced their engagement, taking their romance to the next level.
A major turning point in their relationship was reached on Thursday when the pair, who first began the dating rumors in 2023, announced the news on social media.
Gomez, 32, posted a picture of her engagement ring on Instagram on Thursday (early morning in India), writing, “Forever begins now.” In the comments section, Blanco, 36, also shared his pleasure by jokingly adding, “Hey wait… that’s my wife.”
Longtime friends in the music business, the two first collaborated on a number of popular songs, including Gomez’s 2015 number-one single “Same Old Love.”
However, they didn’t officially acknowledge their love relationship until 2023. Gomez spoke candidly about their relationship in December of that year, stating that they had been dating for six months.
Gomez described Blanco as “my absolute everything” in a poignant Instagram post at the time, saying that he had been “the best thing that’s ever happened to me.”

Beginning in 2010, her relationship with Bieber was often in the news and terminated in 2018. She spent a portion of 2017 dating The Weeknd as well.
