Reasi: In anticipation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to inaugurate the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project on April 19, security precautions have been stepped up in Reasi, Jammu & Kashmir. In anticipation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Reasi, Jammu & Kashmir, for the April 19 inauguration of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project, security measures have been tightened.

According to Dilip Kumar, the Railway Board’s Executive Director of Information and Publicity (ED/IP), the 272-kilometre section—which includes a 119-kilometre tunnel—is a significant advancement for the connectivity of the area.
“Every Indian has dreamed of having a train that runs to Kashmir,” he said. We have prepared for this for a long time, and this USBRL component is finally ready.
This 272-kilometre segment has a 119-kilometre tunnel. For Kashmir’s religious, tourist, and connectivity requirements, the whole region is crucial,” he said. He said that on April 19, Prime Minister Narendra Modi would officially launch the USBRL project.
“The Prime Minister will devote the whole project to the nation, which will greatly benefit its citizens. As per the current plans, Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to dedicate this initiative to the country on April 19, according to Dilip Kumar.
He said that two Vande Bharat Express trains—one from Srinagar and the other from Katra to Srinagar—will start service on the day of its inauguration.
“We want to operate two Vande Bharat Express trains on the day the project starts. According to the Railway Board Executive Director, one Vande Bharat Express train would depart from Srinagar while the other will go from Katra to Srinagar.
The first Vande Bharat train was trial-run by Indian Railways on January 23 between the Srinagar railway station and the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra railway station. The train will cross the world’s tallest railway bridge, Chenab Bridge, and India’s first cable-stayed railway bridge, Anji Khad Bridge. The frigid temperature of the Kashmir valley was taken into consideration while designing this train.
