Security forces busted a terrorist hideout in Reasi district, recovered huge quantity of weapons
Reasi: According to police on Wednesday, security personnel conducted a joint operation in the Lapri region of Mahore, Reasi district, and discovered a cache of weapons and ammunition.
One AK-47 rifle, three AK-47 magazines, two pistols (along with magazines), 511 AK-47 rounds, 14 pistol rounds, four hand grenades, and a backpack were among the numerous weapons and ammunition found in a hideout that was the result of a search operation based on reliable intelligence, the police statement continued.
Further investigations are being conducted to determine the origins of the recovered weapons and to find any connections to terrorist activity, while the confiscated materials have been safeguarded.
The security forces are on guard and encourage the public to notify the authorities of any suspicious activities.
According to sources, security troops on Wednesday found an improvised explosive device (IED) on the Baramulla-Handwara route in the Kupwara region of Jammu and Kashmir.
Security personnel neutralized the explosives once they were discovered, they claimed. The Indian Army’s Chinar Corps posted on X, stating, “An IED was found in Langate, Kupwara, on the Baramulla-Handwara route. By recovering and demolishing an IED at Langate, Kupwara, Chinar Warriors and @JmuKmrPolice prevented a significant act of terrorism today.”
“The Indian Army remains resolute in its commitment to keep Kashmir terror-free,” it stated.
