SDRF rescues three people after a truck fell into a gorge in Uttarakhand’s Nainital district

Nainital: In Uttarakhand’s Nainital area, a vehicle collided with a ditch, prompting the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) to rescue three individuals. On December 3, the event happened close to the Lohali neighborhood in the Nainital district. On Tuesday, the SDRF crew was alerted to the event by a local, and they promptly departed the scene with rescue gear. The vehicle plunged into a 200-meter-deep ditch, according to the official statement.

The SDRF crew responded quickly to the tragedy, saving three wounded people and taking them to the hospital for further care.

According to an official statement from SDRF, “A local citizen notified SDRF on December 3, 2024, that a truck had fallen into a ditch close to the Lohali region and that an SDRF crew was needed to retrieve the vehicle. Under the direction of Chief Constable Naveen Kunwar, the SDRF team promptly set out for the location with rescue gear after receiving the aforementioned information.

“The SDRF team reached the spot and took immediate action, reached the said vehicle in a deep ditch about 200 meters below and 03 injured were brought to the main road through an alternative route on a stretcher and sent to the hospital by ambulance for proper treatment,” it said.

Two people who were critically injured after the oil tanker they were traveling in collapsed into a ditch were rescued earlier on November 29 by the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) team.

According to a news statement, the SDRF crew was called in to rescue an oil tanker that had fallen into the ditch at a location known as Bemund, which is situated between Khadi and Agrakhal.

Under the direction of Sub Inspector Surendra Singh, the SDRF team from Post Dhalwala promptly departed for the location with the required rescue gear after receiving the aforementioned information.

Two persons, identified as the driver and conductor, were critically hurt when the oil tanker, which was headed towards Chamba, lost control at Bemund in the Thana Narendranagar district and plunged into a ditch 150 meters deep from the main road.

The SDRF team arrived at the scene of the incident right away, climbed into the deep ditch in the dark, and accompanied the district police to the two injured people. After much effort, they were carried to the main road in critical condition using a stretcher and rope, and an ambulance took them to the hospital.
