Sanjay Raut condemned Ramesh Bidhuri’s statement, said this about BJP
Durai Muragan, the Tamil Nadu Minister for Water Resources and Irrigation, addressed the issue surrounding Governor RN Ravi’s decision to miss the traditional speech before the Tamil Nadu assembly before the winter session on Monday. He questioned the governor’s motivation for doing so.
Murugan told reporters that the dispute started when the governor asked why the state song, “Tamil Thai Vazhthu,” was played before the national anthem at the beginning of the winter session at the state parliament.
The national anthem is performed at the conclusion of the session in accordance with Assembly tradition, Murugan said, in response to the Governor’s inquiry from the previous year.
“The governor shared his thoughts on why, after Tamil Thai Vazhthu, the national anthem is not performed. He raised this question last year as well, and in accordance with Assembly custom, an explanation was provided before the start of Tamil Thai Vazhthu, followed by the playing of the national anthem. This has been done. However, the governor mentioned this as one of the issues today. The address he submitted to the government was not read by him. His real motivations are dubious. “Murugan said.”
The TN Minister further emphasized that the government places a great value on national leaders, patriotism, and national sovereignty, and that the people of Tamil Nadu and the Assembly have always respected the national anthem.
M. Appavu, the Speaker of the Tamil Nadu Assembly, also offered commentary on the matter, stating that only elected Assembly members had the authority to bring up personal matters and that prior governors had not voiced such worries. He said that by concentrating on the national anthem, the governor seemed to be deflecting attention from other issues.
“The governors, whomever they were before, have never caused this kind of problem…Only elected officials have the authority to voice their own concerns. He said, “I discovered that the governor is only trying to deflect the conversation by bringing up the national anthem.
In an interview with reporters, Appavu said that the national anthem is traditionally performed at a specified time and that the Assembly follows a set routine. Regardless matter who is in charge, Appavu affirmed that same process will be followed in future meetings.
“You should inquire whether there is a timetable provided to sing the national anthem prior to the Assembly’s process. We are unable to alter the process. Whether he reads or not, we’ll do the same the following time. The assembly in Tamil Nadu would be held similarly, and if we win and return, it will also take place similarly,” the speaker said.
The Speaker further emphasized that the Governor is still considering a number of proposals and questioned if comparable problems arise in states that are run by the BJP. He pointed out that these problems seem to be exclusive to states that are not BJP.
“The governor is still considering a number of legislation…I’m not sure whether this problem exists in places where the BJP is in power. Only in places where the BJP is not in power is it taking place,” he said.
Speaker M Appavu translated and read the Governor’s speech to end the first day of the winter session of the Tamil Nadu Assembly. The National Anthem was then played to end the session, and a resolution was voted to only include the Governor’s speech in the Assembly’s official records.
Citing a significant problem with the national anthem, Governor R N Ravi skipped his usual speech before the inaugural session of the state legislative assembly today.
A statement from Raj Bhawan’s office claims that instead of the national anthem, which is customarily played at such events, just the state song, “Tamil Tai Vazhdu,” was performed as the governor arrived at the assembly.
While the assembly speaker read out the translated version of the governor’s speech, the Congress and the DMK protested against the move.
The AIADMK started demonstrating against the alleged sexual assault of a student at Anna University shortly after the governor departed. Marshals were asked to remove the MLAs who were protesting by the speaker.
Appavu said that the ejected AIADMK members will be permitted to attend subsequent sessions but that they were sent out for interfering with the governor’s speech.
