Ruturaj Gaikwad, the captain of the rest of India, and Sai Sudharsan recently played pickleball to be ready for the Irani Cup 2024. During the Irani Cup, both openers will be in action as Gaikwad leads the ROI team against Mumbai, the Ranji Trophy winners.
Prior to the domestic cricket match, Gaikwad and Sudharsan made the decision to challenge one another to a pickleball match. The sport has had phenomenal development both in India and beyond. Ruturaj shared a video of his clash with Sudharsan with his followers on Instagram on Saturday.
Indian cricket players Gaikwad and Sudharsan are not the only ones who have taken up the game; pickleball players Rishabh Pant and former captain of Team India MS Dhoni have also been seen playing.

Even though Sai Sudharsan scored a century, India C was defeated by India A in the Duleep Trophy 2024 final, which Ruturaj Gaikwad captained. His spectacular performance in the summit match was insufficient, as Tanush Kotian and Prasidh Krishna combined for six wickets to cause the collapse of India C’s batting order.
With 232 runs in six innings, Gaikwad led his team in scoring. However, the Maharashtra batsman was left out of India’s next Twenty20 International series against Bangladesh, which infuriated supporters on social media who thought he should have been included in the Indian squad.
The Irani Cup 2024 match between ROI and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will take place in Lucknow’s Ekana Stadium on Tuesday, October 1. The CSK skipper will want to make an impression in his role as captain of ROI.
The remaining Indian team for the 2024 Irani Trophy: Manav Suthar, Saransh Jain, Prasidh Krishna, Mukesh Kumar, Yash Dayal*, Ricky Bhui, Shashwat Rawat, Khaleel Ahmed, Rahul Chahar, B Sai Sudharsan, Devdutt Padikkal, Dhruv Jurel (wk)*, Ishan Kishan (wk), and Ruturaj Gaikwad (captain).
