RG Kar rape and murder: Mohammed Salim alleges that more than one person is involved in the case
Kolkata: Following the Sealdah Court’s conviction of Sanjay Roy in the RG Kar rape and murder case, Md. Salim, the secretary of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) West Bengal State, said that other individuals were engaged in the crime and that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) failed to pursue it.
Salim went on to accuse government agencies of just restating Mamata Banerjee’s remarks.
According to the CPI(M) leader, this is a protracted battle, and people will not give up until the victim’s parents get justice.
“Everyone knows that this case involves more than one person,” Md. Salim remarked in an interview with ANI on Sunday. Why was all this theatrics necessary when Mamata Banerjee had said on the very first day that Sanjay Roy should be shot dead in an encounter? Millions of women across the country flocked to the streets to call for justice. Because the CBI did not proceed, the Sealdah court has not provided justice. These officials from federal agencies are only restating Mamata Banerjee’s remarks. People aren’t going to quit. This is a protracted battle… We must give the victim’s parents justice.”
BJP MP Samik Bhattacharya said earlier on Sunday that attempts were made to destroy the evidence in the wake of the alleged rape and murder of a female trainee physician at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. Sanjay Roy was convicted guilty of the event by a Kolkata court.
“Sanjay Roy is the subject of proof. One hundred people were permitted to visit the location of the crime after the event. The location of the incident was changed. In reaction to the court’s decision, the BJP MP informed ANI, “The vaginal swab preservation was also not done properly.”
“Every attempt was made to erase the evidence at any cost. The Supreme Court kept an eye on the probe. Additionally, he said that a supplemental charge sheet has not yet been released.
He said, “An accused can say anything,” one day after the accused insisted on his innocence.
Sanjay Roy was found guilty on Saturday by the Sealdah Civil and Criminal Court of raping and killing a medical student at the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata.
Sections 64, 66, and 103/1 of the BNS have been framed against the accused, the court said. “There is a complaint against the accused that he went to RG Kar Medical College and Hospital and went to the seminar room, assaulted and murdered the lady doctor taking rest there,” the judge said.
Leaders of the governing Trinamool Congress had praised the Sealdah court’s decision, stating that it “proves” that the Kolkata Police’s arrest and investigation were “accurate.”
“He was found guilty by the court. The penalty has not yet been disclosed. TMC leader Kunal Ghosh told the media a day earlier that although it is inappropriate to comment on it at this time, it is shown that the arrest made by the Kolkata Police within 24 hours, their concentration, and their investigation were correct.
Widespread demonstrations were triggered by the case, which includes the rape and murder of a trainee doctor whose corpse was discovered in the hospital’s lecture room on August 9.
Following the event, Sanjay Roy, a hospital civic volunteer, was taken into custody in relation to the crime.
