Railway Minister Vaishnaw: All arrangements have been completed at eight railway stations for Prayagraj Maha Kumbh
New Delhi: Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said that Railways has handled all of the preparations at eight railway stations for Prayagraj Mahakumbh ahead of Maghi Purnima Snan on February 12. On Monday, he examined the setup at the Prayagraj Railway Station.

“Railways has handled all the arrangements at eight railway stations for Prayagraj Mahakumbh,” Vaishnaw said. Everything is being carried out in close coordination with the state government. 330 trains departed Prayagraj Junction yesterday, and as of right now, they are operating well. We don’t want to hear rumors if someone attempts to spread them. Everything is happening in a methodical way.
“We have deployed over 13,000 railway personnel at the various railway stations in the Sangam Kshetra,” said Dilip Kumar, Executive Director of the Railway Board’s Information & Publicity Department. Additionally, special trains are operated based on demand. In 330 trains, 12.5 lakh devotees left yesterday. Over 140 trains have already been run today as well. There are now 1200 CCTV cameras in place. Five layers of monitoring are being carried out. Every station has a control center set up to keep an eye on the CCTV stream. Some CCTVs are equipped with artificial intelligence and facial recognition technologies.
During the current Mahakumbh 2025, President Droupadi Murmu took a sacred bath at Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, on Monday.
President Murmu performed prayers at Triveni Sangam, a confluence of the Ganges, Yamuna, and Saraswati, after the holy plunge.
When the President arrived in Prayagraj earlier today, she was greeted by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Governor Anandiben Patel.
“On her arrival at Prayagraj, President Droupadi Murmu was welcomed by Uttar Pradesh Governor Smt. Anandiben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath,” the Rashtrapati Bhavan said on X.
President Murmu fed migrating birds at Triveni Sangam after her arrival.
The Uttar Pradesh government said that around 8.429 million devotees participated in the sacred plunge at Maha Kumbh 2025 on Sunday. So far, almost 420 million devotees have participated in the sacred plunge during Maha Kumbh 2025.
Beginning on Paush Purnima (January 13, 2025), Maha Kumbh 2025 is the biggest spiritual and cultural event in the world, drawing followers from all over the world. The spectacular extravaganza will go on till February 26th, Mahashivratri. Millions of devotees from all across the nation and the globe have already attended the event, which is predicted to break attendance and participation records.
