Rahul Gandhi accuses Maharashtra government of handing over Dharavi to Adani
Nanded: Rahul Gandhi, a Congress MP and the leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha, said that the present administration “handed over” Dharavi to Adani and that the people of Maharashtra were “deprived” of their government.
“In Maharashtra, the people were deprived of their government,” Rahul Gandhi said Thursday while speaking at a public event in Nanded, Maharashtra. Adani attended the gathering to overthrow the government. Why, after all, was Adani there at that political gathering? They wanted Dharavi, which is why they were sitting there. Then this government gave Adani Dharavi.
“The state is experiencing unemployment, prices are rising, and Adani and Ambani are thriving despite all of this. They already had roads, ports, and airports; now they had Dharavi. It is your loss (locals), the loss of workers, the loss of young people without jobs, and the loss of soybean producers,” he said.
Gandhi also chastised Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the Manipur crisis.
“To far, PM Narendra Modi has been unable to go to Manipur. He continues to divide people and force them to fight,” he remarked.
“We did the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ of 4000 kilometers,” he said, drawing a comparison between it and his own. We had to do it, but why? “We have to open a shop of love in the market of hatred” was the journey’s motto. However, the BJP propagates enmity wherever they go. They incite conflict between states. Consider Manipur. What is the current state of affairs there?
Speaking at a public event in Mumbai’s Shivaji Park earlier in the day, Prime Minister Modi said that the Congress and the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) were intent on separating the populace of the state.
“The Congress government ruled both here and in the center for many years after independence. However, they made no attempt to prepare for Mumbai in the future. Mumbai began to fall behind as a consequence. The Congress’s character is completely at odds with Mumbai’s. Mumbai is known for its integrity and diligence. The will to advance is what defines Mumbai. However, Congress has a corrupt nature. Congress has a tendency to drive the nation farther behind. “The nature of Congress is to obstruct progress,” he said.
