Following a tip from the BSF intelligence wing about smuggling in the deep region of the hamlet of Attari, the Punjab Police and the BSF intelligence wing carried out a well-planned ambush.

Two suspects were seen by the combined ambush party looking for illegal goods dropped by drone from Pakistan during the operation, which took place on January 3 at about 3:40 pm.
The suspected smuggler and one package of suspected heroin weighing 540 grams were later captured by the ambush group.

According to a press statement, a copper hook was discovered connected to the package containing the drugs, which were wrapped in yellow sticky tape.

The two smugglers live in Amritsar’s villages of Mode and Narainghar.

The detained people are now being thoroughly questioned in order to look into their connections to smugglers located in Pakistan.
This incident happened close to Amritsar’s Government High School Attari.

This action demonstrates the BSF and Punjab Police’s dedication to stopping cross-border smuggling and protecting our borders.
