“Thank you, Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji, for your warm words. You are the source of my strength and a constant source of inspiration. By 2047, we are totally dedicated to achieving your goals of Viksit Bharat and Atmanirbhar Bharat,” Rijiju said on X.
Prior to serving as the Minister of Minority Affairs and Parliamentary Affairs, Kiren Rijiju was as the Law Minister in 2021.
Prior to becoming the Minister of Law and Justice, Rijiju served as the Minister of State for Minority Affairs from May 2014 to May 2019 and as the Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports from May 2019 to July 2021.
Since his school days, Kiren Rijiju, who comes from a politically engaged family, has shown a strong interest in public affairs. He was appointed to the Khadi and Village Industries Commission, Government of India (2002-04), at the age of thirty-one. He was elected to the 14th Lok Sabha in 2004 from one of the nation’s biggest constituencies, West Arunachal Pradesh.
By actively participating in legislative activity both within and outside the House, he immediately gained the respect of his more seasoned colleagues as an MP. During the 14th Lok Sabha, he was a member of many significant parliamentary committees.
Even though he was up in one of the most isolated and impoverished areas of the nation, he has taken advantage of the possibilities life has given him and is now generally acknowledged as the voice of the Northeast in both the public and government spheres.
Rijiju has been an outspoken supporter of the North East’s further integration with the rest of the country. In the general elections of 2024, he was chosen to represent Arunachal West in the 18th Lok Sabha.
