Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday virtually flagged off six Vande Bharat trains in Ranchi
PM Narendra Modi on Sunday virtually launched off six Vande Bharat trains for Jharkhand, Odisha, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh in Ranchi. Earlier, the PM was slated to flag off the trains from Tatanagar but his helicopter could not take off from Ranchi airport owing to poor visibility and severe weather conditions.
Union agricultural minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Jharkhand governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar were present at Tatanagar station for the occasion.
The new trains would travel on the Tatanagar-Patna, Brahmapur-Tatanagar, Rourkela-Howrah, Deoghar-Varanasi, Bhagalpur-Howrah and Gaya-Howrah routes. The trains would give speedier connection, PMO added.
“Today every city and every state wants a Vande Bharat train to boost connectivity,”
PM Modi said. He underlined that the growth of rail connections in the eastern states would enhance the economy of the area and tremendously benefit ordinary passengers, companies, professionals and student groups. “Modern railway infrastructure is imperative to fast-paced development,” said him.
