Prime Minister Narendra Modi accused the Congress of looting the poor in the name of poverty alleviation
Maharashtra: In a blistering assault, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that Congress was “looting” the poor in the name of eradicating poverty.
“Congress always worked on the agenda of keeping the poor poor,” Prime Minister Modi said Thursday while speaking at a public gathering in Panvel, Maharashtra. The misleading phrase ‘gareebi hatao’ has been propagated generation after generation. The poor were plundered by Congress in the guise of eradicating poverty.
“The existence of Congress is in jeopardy in the majority of states. Congress will stop at nothing to secure their existence and gain power. One Congress politician has publicly said that they would provide gas cylinders at reduced prices to infiltrators, Rohingyas, and Bangladeshis. It’s an illustration of how they are tampering with your children’s future in order to get votes,” he said.
The Prime Minister praised Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and stated that he sat in front of Shivaji Maharaj’s tomb to ask for his blessings for national duty, much as worshippers do when they approach God’s divinity to ask for blessings.
“Raigad and I have an emotional bond and soul connection. I go to Raigad to see Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s mausoleum to ask for his blessings after the BJP nominated me as its prime minister candidate in 2013. I sat in front of Shivaji’s grave to get his blessings for the service of the country, much as a devotee would sit in front of God’s divinity. Both swaraj and suraj are required for the sale of viksit Bharat. When our impoverished people go ahead, this resolution will be accomplished. This resolution can only be fulfilled by the BJP and the Mahayuti coalition. The residents of Raigad have been blessing us. The Prime Minister said, “No one can prevent Maharashtra from reaching the pinnacles of development.”
November 20 is the day of the Maharashtra assembly elections, while November 23 is the date of the count.
The Congress won 44 seats, the Shiv Sena 56, and the BJP 105 in the 2019 Maharashtra assembly elections. MVA put up a strong showing in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, taking 30 of 48 seats, while the Mahayuti was only able to get 17.
