Rajmohan, 34, and Sohan Dass, 57, were named as the accused. They hail from Uttarakhand’s Uttarkashi district. According to the police, they were charged under the relevant provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.

According to the police, the matter is still being investigated.

While the district police maintained their onslaught on the drug trade, Shimla Police made another breakthrough by dismantling a drug-peddling group, which resulted in the incarceration of two young people.

Authorities anticipate that these arrests will help put a stop to local organized drug trafficking in the future.

Shimla Police Superintendent Sanjeev Kumar Gandhi described the difficulties caused by drug trafficking in the area and the police’s coordinated efforts to address the issue.

Standing in front of us in a very concerning position was the problem of drug dealing. Shimla Police is working diligently in this direction. As is well known, drug abuse is ensnaring individuals from all walks of life. “Any kind of person falls into the drug trap,” he remarked.

SP Gandhi emphasized the police’s proactive efforts, such as focused operations and community-based projects run by committed officers and constables.

“The current seizure is a component of the Shimla Police’s larger plan to use an integrated intelligence network to target narcotics syndicates. We have benefited greatly from our Social Integrated Intelligence Network System, which we established in Shimla. Gandhi added, “It’s a network system that includes Mahila Mandal, school- and college-going children who have been successfully removed from drug-pending cases and are now out.”

He also emphasized how this method allows the police to keep a careful eye on suspicious activity by collaborating with the Task Force, local business owners, and other stakeholders.

“The Ranjan Gang, a syndicate that operated in the court area with a network of 15 to 30 young people, was also exposed by the operation on Tuesday. Six additional persons have been added to the total number of arrests made in the last few days. Following this, two young individuals participating in drug-peddling operations were detained, along with six other persons.

Gandhi said that the investigation is far from over and that further arrests are expected, adding, “The investigation is still going on and many more people will be involved.”
