The police released a statement identifying the accused as Shahbaz, who admitted to shooting at them with the intent to kill during the incident.

According to the police, they also found an illegal 12-bore handgun, one empty cartridge, and one live cartridge on the accused.

According to the statement, the accused acknowledged that he and his buddies had assaulted the police officers and set their bikes on fire.

The accused said that when the police started looking for him after the incident, he ran away to Delhi. His friend Adnan was taken into custody from Watla House in Delhi, where police were conducting raids to apprehend the rioters.

The statement claims that Shahbaz was taken into custody when he was attending a court appearance over an Adnan-related matter.

50 persons were previously detained by the Uttar Pradesh police in relation to the violence that occurred on November 24 in the Sambhal district near the Jama Masjid region.

50 persons have been taken into custody, while 91 people linked to the violence are being sought, according to Sambhal Superintendent (SP) Krishnan Kumar Bishnoi. He went on to say that some people had not yet been identified.

“In the violence that occurred in Sambhal on November 24, fifty persons have been taken into custody thus far. Another ninety-one persons are still being sought. “Some individuals have not yet been identified,” SP Bishnoi said.

“The inquiry is being conducted from every perspective, including the individuals responsible for the tragedy and its cause. “The police have not yet finished,” he continued.

Following recent unrest in the region last month during an Archaeological study of India (ASI) study of a mosque from the Mughal period, which resulted in four police and community members being killed and injured, this development follows the incident.
