PM Narendra Modi pays tribute to 40 CRPF personnel who lost their lives in the Pulwama terror attack

New Delhi: On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid respects to the 40 members of the CRPF who died in the Jammu and Kashmir terror incident of Pulwama in 2019. PM Modi paid tribute to the brave warriors who died in Pulwama in 2019 on the social media site X. Their sacrifice and unshakable commitment to the country will live on in the memories of future generations.

The incident was described as a “cowardly act of terrorism” by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who also paid respects.

“On behalf of the grateful nation, I pay my heartfelt tribute to the soldiers who were martyred in the cowardly terrorist attack in Pulwama on this day in the year 2019,” he wrote in an article on X.

“The whole world has unified against terrorism, which is the greatest threat to humanity. He went on to say, “The Modi government is determined to completely destroy the terrorists by running a campaign with a ‘zero tolerance’ policy against them, whether it be through an airstrike or a surgical strike.”

Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, also honored the troops who died in the Pulwama terror assault.

Yogi said in a post on X that we are inspired to combat terrorism together by the gallant boys of Mother India’s sacrifice.

“My sincere condolences and admiration to all of the valiant, immortal warriors who were killed in the despicable Pulwama terrorist assault! We are motivated to combat terrorism together by the courageous boys of Mother India and their sacrifice. “Jai Hind,” said the CM.

Forty troops were killed on February 14, 2019, when a suicide bomber crashed an IED-laden car into a CRPF convoy. The Indian Air Force killed a “large number” of terrorists and destroyed their infrastructure on February 26, 2019, as it launched several aircraft attacks against JeM terror facilities near Balakot, Pakistan, days after the incident.

An alert IAF prevented Pakistan from launching an operation the next day to target Indian military sites in Jammu and Kashmir after the airstrike was conducted in the early hours of February 26.

Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman, who was pursuing Pakistani fighters in a MiG-21 Bison fighter plane during the engagement, crossed over to PoK and was shot down. Pakistan took him into prison. A fighter plane from Pakistan was also shot down by India.
