Phoenix Mall of Asia in Bengaluru’s Yelahanka area submerged in water after severe storm
Following intense thunderstorms on Tuesday, Bengaluru’s Phoenix Mall of Asia, which is situated in the Yelahanka neighborhood, was completely inundated under water. Images shared on social media revealed that the mall’s entrance and parking lot were completely flooded, making it difficult for patrons to go inside.
One of Bengaluru’s newest and largest malls is located in the city’s north. The downpour caused mayhem, with water filling the mall on all sides. To make the water usable for patrons, the mall management is working to flush it out.
The mall has generated debates about its placement and been in the headlines since its 2023 opening because to its disarray. Phoenix Mall of Asia’s management was ordered by Bengaluru police to close the facility for a period of fifteen days last year due to traffic congestion in the northern region of the tech city.

This recently established mall was given instructions by City Police Commissioner B Dayananda, but they subsequently filed a lawsuit contesting the ruling. Massive traffic backups were then caused by the mall’s impromptu parking.
Bengaluru has received an orange rainfall advisory from the IMD because rain is expected to continue throughout tomorrow. Wednesday is set aside as a vacation for all Bengaluru schools and institutions, according to the Karnataka government. Given that rain is predicted to persist for the next several days, Bengaluru Urban District Collector Jagadeesha issued directives on Tuesday night.
Additionally, the government recommended IT-BT and other private companies in the city to let workers to work from home on Wednesday. Significant rainfall is expected to result in traffic jams around the city, making it difficult for workers to go to work, according to the Karnataka government.
