Parents of two Bihar youths killed in Manipur have sought government’s help in sending their bodies back to their hometown
Gopalganj: The parents of the two young Bihar people who were slain in Manipur have asked the state government to make it easier for the corpses of the two people to be returned to their hometown. The two dead, Sunalal Kumar (18) and Dasharat Kumar (17), were migrant laborers who had traveled to Rajwahi hamlet in the Gopalganj region of Bihar. They were shot down in Manipur’s Kakching district.
A day after Diwali, according to the families, the two lads traveled to Manipur in order to make some additional cash. Additionally, they claimed to be unaware of the bloody struggle raging in Manipur.
Radhika Devi, Dashrath Kumar’s mother, told the media on Sunday, “I would not have sent my son to Manipur if we had known there was a war there. He was just seventeen. I just beg the authorities to allow me to see my son’s face one more time.
Dashrath Kumar’s father, Mohan Sohan, said that his other son, who had also left the state to work, informed him about his son’s death.
“My other son, Santosh, called me and informed me that both Suna Lal and my brother had passed away. The father said, “Since getting that news, we are just running around, talking to people, and being lost.”
“The youngster went to work in Manipur, where around six people were working. Two guys had continued riding their bikes, leaving four others behind. Suddenly, when the men on the cycle turned around after hearing a noise, they discovered that other men had been shot,” he said.
According to Sunalal Kumar’s mother, one of the dead, “They shot him in Manipur. After Diwali, he traveled to Manipur in order to get some money, where he worked as a laborer.
N. Biren Singh, the chief minister of Manipur, had earlier denounced the two individuals’ deaths as an “act of terrorism.”
“I vehemently denounce the heinous murder of two young brothers from Bihar, Sunalal Kumar (18) and Dasharat Kumar (17), in the Kakching area of Manipur. In an X post, the CM expressed his sympathies to the families of the victims, saying, “This act of terrorism is a direct assault on our values.”
Additionally, the CM declared that the relatives of the dead will get Rs 10 lakh ex gratia.
Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar, also denounced the murder and directed authorities to make the required preparations to have the two individuals sent back to their hometown and to provide the deceased’s family benefits in accordance with the law.
“I have instructed the families to get Rs. 2 lakh apiece from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. In addition, I have instructed that additional benefits be provided in accordance with the regulations of the programs administered by the Social Welfare and Labor Resources Departments.
Additionally, the Bihar Resident Commissioner in Delhi should gather information regarding the situation and provide whatever support that may be given. Additionally, arrange for the deceased’s corpses to be sent back to their hometown,” the Bihar chief minister said.
