On Christmas Eve, people in Varanasi flock to the markets for Christmas shopping
People in Varanasi crowded into the marketplaces to buy for Christmas on the eve.
“Everyone is very excited about Christmas, which is on December 25,” said Nitin Pawar, a local who was shopping for Christmas-related products. The whole colony is anticipating the festivities, and preparations have already started.”

“We are busy preparing for December 25 to celebrate Christmas,” another local customer told the reporters. Right now, we’re shopping for things like Santa decorations and a Christmas tree. In the evening, we want to properly celebrate, order cakes, and decorate our colony.
A local store owner named Rajesh told the BBC, “People are coming in large numbers to buy Christmas trees, children’s clothes, socks, and electronics related to the celebration.”
The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of India (CBCI) held Christmas festivities at its offices in the nation’s capital on Monday, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi was there.
For the first time, a prime minister has attended an event like this at the Indian Catholic Church’s headquarters. The prime minister also spoke with significant members of the Church, bishops, and cardinals, among other Christian leaders.
