Odisha: Police officer assaulted while conducting raids to seizes illegally stored sand in Kaptipada
Mayurbhanj: On Wednesday, while conducting a search to collect illegally stored sand in Kaptipada, Odisha, a police officer was reportedly attacked and stones were thrown at his car.
Inspector in charge of the Udala police station, Mayurbhanj, Prakash Rath, told the media that someone has accumulated 20 tractors of unlawful sand at his registered apartment.
Prakash Rath stated, “We performed a raid with Tehsildar’s assistance, and Tehsildar and I proceeded to conduct a raid today as well. We have learned that one individual, Ghera, has accumulated twenty tractors of illicit sand at his registered residence. His wife and five or six other ladies mistreated me and broke my vehicle when I attempted to catch him. They hit me with stones. They will be subject to action.
He said that as they were the ones who planned the activity, those who were looking for RTI will be held accountable.
