“Some people are needlessly creating political issues,” Odisha minister Prithviraj Harichandan stated in reference to the Joint Action Committee (JAC) meeting on delimitation. They need to hold off on stating what is incorrect and what is correct until the notice has been given or proclaimed. In this instance, their reaction is a kind of unwarranted anxiety that they are displaying. It is unacceptable when regional parties act in such an undemocratic manner.

MK Stalin, the chief minister of Tamil Nadu, presided over the inaugural meeting of the Joint Action Committee in Chennai over the planned delimitation problem.

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, and other notable politicians were present at the meeting.

Eatala Rajender, a BJP MP from the Malkajgiri Lok Sabha seat, said the purpose of the conference is to disparage the union government and the opposition wants to deceive the public, which they will soon discover. The next iteration of the meeting is planned to take place in Hyderabad.

A resolution stating that “any delimitation exercise carried out by the Center should be done “transparently” and after discussion and deliberation with all stakeholders” was unanimously approved during the Joint Action Committee on Delimitation’s inaugural meeting.

Southern states must continue to be politically significant, according to Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, who has announced preparations for an all-party conference to discuss the matter.

Southern politicians are worried about the delimitation problem because they think it’s an effort to diminish the significance of their states. In a letter, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin argued that delimitation should only take place during the next national census, which is expected to take place around 2026.
The Joint Action Committee (JAC) meeting on the delimitation issue was earlier condemned by Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy on Sunday as a “baseless” and “time pass” activity intended to defame the BJP.

He boldly forecast that in the next elections, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will establish governments in Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and Karnataka.

“It was a baseless meeting,” Reddy told reporters. It passed the time. It was only an effort to discredit the BJP. The NDA will also establish the government in Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and Karnataka in the next elections.

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Odisha Congress President Bhakta Charan Das, and Biju Janata Dal leader Sanjay Kumar Das Burma were among the political figures that attended the meeting.

The delimitation process and the three-language formula put forward in the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 caused a rift between the central government and the MK Stalin-led Tamil Nadu government.
