Nitin Gadkari claims he received offers to become PM “many times” before and after Lok Sabha elections
Lok Sabha Elections: On Thursday, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari maintained, he has been approached’multiple times’… either before or after the Lok Sabha elections to take over as prime minister of the country.
Gadkari made this statement at the India Today conference while responding to a query about his earlier statement in which he said that an opposition party leader had offered support to him only if he was willing to be made the prime minister.
“I have been approached with this kind of offer on several occasions, both prior to and following the Lok Sabha election,” he said.
The senior BJP leader sidestepped the question and claimed he was leaving it up to the media to interpret when the interviewers asked whether Gadkari had received proposals to become prime minister after the Lok Sabha results in June.
“I shall not waver in my ideological convictions. It was not a matter of whether to accept the offer. Not becoming prime minister is my goal. He said, “I am living my ideology with my conviction.”
