NER equips 80 train coaches with unique Maha Kumbh-themed designs to enhance travel experience of pilgrims
The North Eastern Railway (NER) has outfitted 80 train carriages with distinctive Mahakumbh-themed décor in anticipation of the forthcoming Prayagraj Mahakumbh, which would improve pilgrims’ journeys.
As “Mahakumbh Special Trains,” these coaches, which were built at the Gorakhpur Mechanical Workshop, will form four rakes and provide passengers heading to the religious festival with a colorful visual display.
According to Pankaj Kumar Singh, NER’s Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO), the railway has finished making all the necessary preparations for the Mahakumbh. To handle the anticipated surge of devotees, two important stations in the mela region, Jhusi and Rambagh, have been renovated with improved passenger security measures, larger waiting areas, and other necessary amenities.
“We have designed some coaches with vinyl paintings that depict glimpses of the Mahakumbh,” Singh remarked, highlighting the innovative approach. In addition to raising awareness of the Mahakumbh’s cultural importance and crucial bathing dates, this project seeks to provide visitors with an impression of the event’s grandeur.
To handle the expected influx of pilgrims, Indian Railways has announced plans to run over 3,000 special trains during the festival in addition to the Mahakumbh special coaches.
In order to provide customers quick information on their travel alternatives, notifications are being sent out for these particular services.
As the much anticipated Maha Kumbh Mela approaches, Prayagraj is seeing a surge of devotion and spiritual fervor.
Before entering the Maha Kumbh camp on Saturday, a number of Akharas conducted a spectacular Shobha Yatra in anticipation of the occasion. With sadhus clad in garlands, riding horses, and covered in sacred ash, the procession was a colorful demonstration of devotion.
The Acharya of Niranjani Akhara, who was perched on an open-top truck, led the Niranjani Akhara, one of the most notable Akharas in the procession. Alongside, a number of other sadhus carried the Akhara’s flags. A participant in the march was Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti.
As flowers were strewn in a sign of respect and joy, enormous crowds waited in line to get a sight of the famed sadhus. The emphasis on yoga, meditation, and the pursuit of spiritual enlightenment is what makes Niranjani Akhara well-known.
Former Union Minister Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti encouraged people to attend the Maha Kumbh Mela in an interview with ANI.
“As you can see, there are devotees assembled on every street as the Panchayati Akhara Shri Niranjani enters this Maha Kumbh region today. This is what makes Bharat special. Sanatan Dharma is what binds all people together. Compared to the 2019 Maha Kumbh, this one will be even more magnificent and holy. I urge the nation’s citizens to attend and take in this occasion.”
