NCW condemns murder of 28-year-old woman in Pune
New Delhi: The murder of a 28-year-old lady in Pune by her coworker in a business parking lot has been denounced by the National Commission for Women (NCW). The authorities have been instructed by the Commission to guarantee a fair and expeditious inquiry.
The lady was assaulted with a cleaver by her male coworker on Tuesday, apparently because she had borrowed money from him under false pretenses.
“The National Commission for Women strongly condemns the brutal murder of a 28-year-old woman in Pune, reportedly attacked with a cleaver by her colleague in a company parking lot, while bystanders failed to intervene,” according to a post on X.
Within two days, the NCW requested a copy of the FIR and a thorough action taken report from the authorities.
“Taking serious note of the incident, the Commission has directed the concerned authorities to book the accused under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, and ensure a fair and time-bound investigation,” said the NCW.
“Within two days, a copy of the FIR and a thorough action taken report were requested. In these situations, the Commission stresses the critical need for responsibility and prompt justice,” the Commission said.
