Navi Mumbai police arrested 16 African nationals for their involvement in drug trade

According to authorities, 16 African nationals have been arrested by the Navi Mumbai authorities’s crime section for their participation in the drug trade as part of a fighting operation. Three of the individuals were detained for using a forged passport or for being in the country without a visa.

The Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) and Economic Offenses Branch (EOB) of the Navi Mumbai Crime Branch conducted the combatting operation together on Thursday night, according to a press statement from the Navi Mumbai Police Commissionerate.

According to Bhausaheb Dhole, the assistant commissioner of police (ACP), the police have confiscated narcotics from the detained African nationals valued at about Rs 12 crore. The Navi Mumbai Police Commissionerate carried out the searches on 25 locations.

“The countering action included 150 police officers and Navi Mumbai Police Commissionerate enforcers in total.

Within the Commissionerate borders, they conducted raids at 25 locations and found 2 kilogram 45 grams of cocaine (value around Rs 10.22 crore), 663 grams of MD powder (worth about Rs 1.48 crore), and 58 grams of methylene (worth about Rs.

11.60 lakh), 31 grams of ganja (about Rs 6,000), and 23 grams of charas (roughly Rs 3.45 lakh) have been confiscated,” the press release said.

Moreover, 73 African nationals whose passports and visas have expired have received orders to leave the nation.
