The EOW claims that after Kamra made derogatory comments about Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde in his most recent stand-up video, “Naya Bharat,” raising questions about his income sources, the complainant urged the agency to look into the financial transactions connected to Kamra’s content.

According to authorities, stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra had already received a third notice from the Mumbai Police, requesting that he come in for an explanation of his comments.

The police claim that on April 5, the stand-up comedian was summoned to record his statement.

“Kunal Kamra has received a third notice from Mumbai Police to attend and provide a statement on April 5. Kunal Kamra had already been invited by Mumbai Police twice for interrogation, but he failed to show up, according to Mumbai Police authorities.

Kamra’s inability to appear before the Mumbai Police on the first summons prompted the third summons notice.

Mumbai Police are looking into claims that Kamra poked fun at former Chief Minister Eknath Shinde after making humorous comments about a number of other well-known figures.

This followed Kamra’s previous controversy-starting “gaddar” (traitor) remark, which was purportedly directed at Eknath Shinde.

Police said they will take action against the stand-up performer if the inquiry shows that he has previously made sarcastic remarks about any politician, actress, or athlete.

Since Kamra’s comments on Shinde, three different charges have been filed against him at the Khar Police station.

The Mumbai Police claim that a hotelier and a businessman from Nashik made two complaints, while the mayor of Jalgaon filed one.

Following reports that the Mumbai Police had given notifications to several of the attendees for interrogation, Kamra requested an apology from them on Wednesday: “I sincerely apologize for whatever difficulty that attending my event has brought you. To arrange your next trip anywhere you’d want in India, just send me an email.

In relation to many FIRs filed against him, Kunal Kamra was previously granted temporary anticipatory release by the Madras High Court on Friday. Judge Sunder Mohan granted conditional temporary anticipatory bail till April 7.

In order to get transit anticipatory release, Kunal Kamra had petitioned the Madras High Court, arguing that he had been the target of several threats as a result of his recent humorous remarks.
