Manipur: Security forces recovered huge quantity of arms, ammunition and explosives in last 24 hours
Imphal: In a series of operations over the last 24 hours, security authorities in Manipur have seized a sizable quantity of weapons, ammunition, and explosives and detained a number of insurgent group and drug trafficking cadres, Manipur Police said on Wednesday.

A statement claims that throughout the last 24 hours, the state’s situation has been tight but under control. Security personnel conducted area domination and search operations in the vulnerable and outlying regions of the hill and valley districts.
Two Baofeng handheld sets and one BP jacket with a plate were found by security personnel during the April 2 search operation in Mollum village and the surrounding regions under the jurisdiction of Churachandpur police station.
The news report states that they also found 50 9mm live rounds, three magazines, and one rifle in Khangabok Loukol, which is under the Thoubal police station.
Security officers detained Khoirom Deepsea Devi, an active member of the KCP (PWG), from the Imphal West area in a different operation.
According to the announcement, Thounaojam Sachindra Singh, an active PLA cadre from the Imphal East area, was also taken into custody.
In a separate operation in the district of Bishnupur, security personnel detained a person who was suspected of possessing brown sugar. Faiju Rahaman has been recognized as the accused. Twelve soap caps with suspected brown sugar, totaling around 661.8 grams, were confiscated by the security personnel.
Vehicles transporting necessities have been able to travel via NH-2 and NH-37, respectively. According to the press release, a security escort is supplied in critical areas to guarantee the vehicles’ safe and unhindered travel, and strict security measures are implemented in all susceptible areas.
In all, 112 checkpoints were set up across Manipur’s many districts, both in the lowlands and the hills. According to the announcement, no one was arrested by police in relation to infractions in various state districts.
