Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis took a dig at NCP chief Sharad Pawar’s recent statement
Mumbai: NCP leader Sharad Pawar recently praised the RSS for the BJP’s win in the Maharashtra Assembly elections. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has responded to this comment.
Pawar’s remark was ascribed by Fadnavis to the RSS Vichar Pariwar’s victory in the Lok Sabha elections against the “fake narrative” that the Maha Vikas Aghadi had produced.
Fadnavis claims that the RSS was instrumental in uniting national forces to combat “anarchist forces” during the Maharashtra elections.
“We urged RSS Vichar Pariwar to unite the national forces against the anarchist forces during the Maharashtra elections. To combat chaos, members of the RSS Vichar Pariwar’s different sectors performed their duties in their specialized domains. As a consequence, we were able to put a stop to the false narrative, and the Assembly elections’ outcomes differed from the Lok Sabha’s,” he said at the award event in Nagpur honoring senior RSS leader Vilas Fadnavis.
He attributed the difference between the Assembly and Lok Sabha elections to this effort.
“During the Lok Sabha elections, the Maha Vikas Aghadi was successful in fabricating a story. As a result, they were overconfident that by spreading such a false story, they might gain power. I was overconfident, as were many of us, in the Lok Sabha elections. We believed we were winning. Therefore, we believed that the public would not be impacted by the opposition’s discussions about amending the constitution, etc. “Unfortunately, we witnessed the impact of vote jihad, which we had assumed would have no effect,” Fadnavis said.
In addition, Fadnavis praised Pawar’s intellect, stating that he must have researched how the RSS successfully refuted the opposition’s story. He even implied that Pawar’s commendation may be a calculated attempt to recognize the impact of the RSS.
“Sharad Pawar Saheb is very intelligent; he must have researched how our large atmosphere was pierced in only one minute. It must have occurred to him that these individuals are engaged in ‘Rashtrakaran’ (working in the national interest) in addition to politics. “This must have been what he said,” Fadnavis remarked.
Fadnavis stressed the unpredictable nature of politics in a more general analysis of Maharashtra’s political climate, pointing to the state’s surprising coalitions and defections. He warned that nothing in politics can be taken for granted, stressing that “never say never” and “anything can happen.”
He may have done it because we sometimes have to give credit to our rivals. Following the political events in Maharashtra from 2019 to 2024, I came to the realization that you should never say never. Never assume nothing will occur. Although anything may happen, it doesn’t always have to. Ajit Pawar arrives here, and Uddhav Thackeray goes there. Anything may happen in politics, but that doesn’t mean it should. It’s not a very nice thing to happen, in my opinion. The Maharashtra chief minister said, “There is no hope for where the political situation will take you if we firmly decide that this will not happen in politics.”
This follows Pawar’s declaration in which he commended the RSS for its adherence to its principles and asked his party to develop a workforce that shares his commitment to progressive ideas.
In a previous party meeting, NCP Supremo Sharad Pawar commended the RSS for the BJP’s victory in the just-concluded Maharashtra Assembly election.
