Maharashtra Assembly Election: Prakash Javadekar calls Congress’ promises “nonsense.”
Maharashtra Assembly Election: Former Union Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Prakash Javadekar attacked the Congress for its manifesto pledges ahead of the next Maharashtra assembly elections, calling the pronouncements they made “nonsense.”
“Today, the BJP and Congress unveiled their manifestos. Sankalp Patra, as the BJP refers to it, is a promise made to the people. However, given their record in the three states where they hold power—Karnataka, Telangana, and Himachal Pradesh—the declaration they made is utterly absurd, Javadekar said.
According to the BJP leader, the chief ministers and deputy chief ministers of these three states who traveled to Maharashtra (for campaigning) have lied. They pledged to create one lakh jobs in Himachal Pradesh, but instead permanently terminated 1.5 lakh positions and halted hiring for two years.
He said that the Congress administration in Himachal Pradesh was not even paying wages on schedule, despite its claims that they would provide women Rs 2,000.
“All three states’ chief ministers and deputy chief ministers came here, and they have all lied. They had promised to hire one lakh young people in Himachal, canceled 1.5 lakh positions permanently, and halted hiring for two years. What does it mean to provide jobs? They promised to provide ladies with Rs 2,000, but that hasn’t happened. They are not even paying wages on schedule, so forget about the outdated pension plan. Javadekar said, “This is the story of Himachal Pradesh.”
The BJP leader added that the allowances had not yet been delivered, despite the Congress party’s pledge to offer Rs 3,000 for the jobless and Rs 2,000 for women when it took office in Telangana 1.5 years ago.
“In Telangana, ladies get Rs 2,000 and jobless people receive Rs 3,000. This is the case in Telangana, where it hasn’t begun yet after 1.5 years. There is no power in Karnataka, despite promises to provide farmers with free electricity for eight hours. How are they going to provide this much leisure time? Second, because they hadn’t gotten a pension in the last three months, they also discussed pensions for women. Their record is this. However, in places where the BJP was in power, the party followed its instructions, Javadekar said.
