Maha Kumbh Mela 2025: The procession of Anand Akhara started from the headquarters of Anand Akhara located in Allahpur, Prayagraj
As the country gets ready for the Mahakumbh Mela 2025, which is set to start on January 13, the Anand Akhada’s Peshwai landed in Prayagraj on Monday.
Starting from the Anand Akhada headquarters at Allahpur in Prayagraj, the camp made its way to Daraganj to join the Mela.
The Sun God, Suryanarayana, is the presiding deity of Anand Akhada. The Akhada is renowned for establishing educational establishments that teach yoga, meditation, martial arts, and Hindu texts.
Akhada Anand Acharya Mandleswar Balkanand Ji Maharaj said that saints from all over the globe who are connected to Anand Akhada will begin to live in the Mela tents on Monday. He also said that the Sun God, who is worshipped by the Akhada, would provide everyone attending the Mela vitality and the opportunity to develop spiritually.
“Starting today, every Anand Akhada seer from throughout the globe will take up residence in the Mela tents… Everyone in the Mela will get vitality and spiritual development from our god, the Sun God,” he said.
As the much-anticipated Maha Kumbh Mela approaches, Prayagraj is seeing a surge of devotion and spiritual fervor. Niranjani Akhada, Ahwan Akhada, Atal Akhara, Mahanirvani Akhara, and Juna Akhada, the biggest akhada in the Sanyasi tradition, are among the prominent akhadas whose seers have already reached the encampment.
Over 45 crore devotees are anticipated for the celebration of the Mahakumbh, which is being held after a 12-year hiatus. Devotees will assemble at the Sangam, where the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers converge, during the Mahakumbh to take a sacred bath that is said to atone for sins and bring about moksha (freedom).
In order to ensure a secure and magnificent Maha Kumbh celebration in 2025, the Uttar Pradesh Police have increased security measures. Personnel are inspecting all cars and the identification cards of anybody entering the area as part of these security procedures. In case of emergencies, a bomb squad has also been positioned close by.
The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC), and state police conduct daily exercises to guarantee public safety, according to Jagdish Kaliraman, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Parade Area Kumbh, who spoke to the media.
“We continue to do random checks. We follow senior officials’ instructions and do regular security exercises.
State police, the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC), and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) are working together on this initiative. We request identification from everyone entering and question them about their origins and intended accommodations. If someone seems suspect, we take note of their information and check it with the state’s police to make sure they don’t have any criminal records.”
“Additionally, under the Parade police station, we are checking tents, shelters, and slum areas to verify the backgrounds of the residents and their living situations,” added ACP Kaliraman.
Thousands of AI-powered CCTVs, underwater drones, and cutting-edge amenities for tourists and pilgrims have also been set up by Uttar Pradesh police.
Held once every 12 years, the Maha Kumbh will come to an end on February 26. On January 14 (Makar Sankranti), January 29 (Mauni Amavasya), and February 3 (Basant Panchami), the Kumbh’s principal bathing ceremonies (Shahi Snan) will be held.
To guarantee security readiness in the Mela region, police and paramilitary personnel carried out area dominance patrols and security inspections on Sunday.
In order to guarantee smooth transportation along a variety of routes, the Uttar Pradesh government has also sent out 40 electric buses for devotees, with another 30 buses anticipated from Lucknow.
